Garagiste / Home Winemaking Program
Program
Overview
Napa Wine Company offers organically grown Merlot from our Oakville Vineyards for home winemaking.
Special designated areas of our Lincoln
Creek Merlot Vineyards have been set aside for this limited availability
program.
Vineyard
Our Lincoln Creek Merlot Vineyard was planted in
1996 with ~ 25 acres of St. George rootstock and
Wente clone Merlot. This vineyard
is rooted in a gravely loam soil; it produces wine
with strong fruit flavors and medium tannin. Nova
Wines, Inc. producers of the “Marilyn Merlot” brand use
this Vineyard for some of their blends.

“I have been making wine for
the past six years, but for these past two harvests, I've had access
to some of the best fruit in the Valley and the opportunity to work
at a facility that some of the top winemakers in Napa call home. The
crusher/destemmer is the highest quality available and the crew gave
me the cleanest pick that I have had, however the access to the winemaking
staff at Napa Wine Company is like a fantasy-camp for a home winemaker.”
