Napa Wine Company, 2002 Cabernet Sauvignon

Keeping to this philosophy, the 2002 Cabernet Sauvignon received French oak barrel aging to provide the wine with a rich, supple mouth feel and a hint of toastiness. This full bodied wine delivers a firm core of plum and blackberry followed by very ripe black cherry and red currant fruit. Bold and luscious with hints of dark chocolate, caramel and spice, this wine exemplifies the blockbuster year all the critics are raving about.
The backbone of the Cabernet Sauvignon is the fruit we harvested from our Rock Cairn vineyard, 32 acres uniquely nestled in the western hills of Oakville. Rock Cairn was a name given the hill surrounding the vineyard by the Native Americans who traveled the Valley long before a grapevine was ever planted. During their trading treks, the Native Americans would travel over the hill and deposit a small rock on a cairn, saying a prayer for safe travel.
